specs for a pc that can handle maya
on Sep 14, 2005 at 7:12:28 pm

can anyone give me suggestions for specs for an average powered workstation that can run maya 7 for fairly basic 3d modeling and animation? I'm not talking cutting edge top of the line, just something that can handle it pretty well. It won't be for anything super intense, but the machine i'm working on now just can't handle maya unless there is very little in the scene. i say its the machine i'm working on, but some say the machine is fine and we just need to set some memory allocation settings or something like that in maya. Are there such options for changing those types of settings?

Here is what i'm working on now:

windows xp pro
amd athlon processor
1.00 GHz, 384MB RAM (i have no clue how its running at 384 MB of RAM, doesn't it have to be 128,256,512,ect...??)

thanks for any advice, suggestions, comments
