Shooting a theatrical play with Vixia G20

I am going to be shooting a theatrical play with a Vixia G20.
I have a couple of questions.
Which is the best frame rate if it going to go to DVD (60i etc.)?
What are the best general settings for theatrical lighting considering that I cannot see it before the show.
I know the question about the settings for the lighting is a difficult one to answer but maybe someone here has shot under similar circumstances.
Thanks for any help,

The problem with stage lighting are the bright spots that can cause overexposure of faces.
This would be especially true if a followspot is used. In that case the main actor is much brighter than the rest of the stage. If your camera is set for automatic exposure then an average value for the light intensity is taken and the actor will be overexposed. You cannot correct for blown-out highlights in post.
To avoid this set your camera to manual exposure (if you can) and make sure that you do not blow out the highlights. Otherwise try to underexpose with exposure compensation.
Another problem is if the stage lighting changes a lot. Then you have to be very quick to re-adjust.
