Burnt Firewire board.. XHA1
on Jun 14, 2010 at 5:45:26 pm

Hello everyone, this is my first post on these forums.. I'm very NEW to this whole DV thing..

I recently bought a XH A1 with a burnt fire wire port , and blown internal speaker... (i got a really good deal to say the least, $500)

And I DO plan on getting those issues corrected , however...

when i do get it fixed, will i then be able to capture a dv tape , that has HDV footage on it.... and will that footage be considered HD?? or is it still SD?

from what i understand...and have researched here is that true HD capturing and editing can only be done with tremendous storage space, and capable hardware.... (not just my old vegas 6.0 and a standard tower)

SO basically i'll just be fixing and HD cam without being able to ever use the HD ? (unless i have $$$ more to invest)

i'm just trying to film my bands gigs, rehearsals... and make our EPK, and music video.. and i'm trying to figure out the workflow..

thanks for your time.
