Neoscene HD or Divide Frame or both?
on May 3, 2010 at 4:38:38 am

Hi,

I am a new to the DSLR video... bought a 7D and need to build a set up that can handle editing of 7d HD footage. I plan to use Vegas on Windows running on a 2Ghz Core2Duo/32 bit Win7/2 GB RAM/Geforce 9600 GT.

With this, I am hoping either Divide Frame or Neoscene or both of them together would make the editing tolerable. Question is do I need both Divide Frame and Neoscene or either of them would suffice?

Thanks in advance,

Niloy

Just NeoScene, I think. But to be sure, please contact Jake Segraves, the rep for Cineform.

Hi Niloy.

Is your machine a laptop, or a desktop?

If it is a desktop, you will have a lot easier time if you upgrade to a quad core processor.

Either way (laptop or desktop) you will have a lot easier time with 4GB RAM. And considering how cheap RAM is nowadays, I would definitely recommend it :)

It is a laptop. So processor upgrade is not feasible. I'll go for the RAM upgrade though.

Thanks,

Niloy

To make editing 7D footage painless in Vegas you should check out the DVFilm EPIC plugin. Realtime editing without transcoding.

It is awesome.

Looks pretty interesting, thanks for the pointer. May be a alternative to Neoscene.
