Canon HV40 NTSC vs PAL.

Hi,

I am looking at buying an NTSC HV40 which will mainly be used in a PAL region. I've found a few other posts online about the issues encountered in this situation but thought it might be worth asking for a more specific guide...

My videos will really only be for online distribution, with Premiere and After Effects work beforehand. What issues am I likely to run into using an NTSC format, and what would the benefits/disadvantages be of using this HV40 in a PAL region?

Many thanks,

We have been using a HV20 which is nearly identical with the HV40( the Hv40 runs at 30fps not 25 fps as in PAL. You will need to convert the clips , as many moving objects could look jerky) It can present an editing problem , if you intend to run it to a Tv Monitor in say Australia.(This can present a smooth running problem if not done correctly)The high definition clips from this videocamera are truly stunning on a Sony 1920 x 1080 i TV
We were running a Canon 5D mark II at 30 fps and to do this was a nuisance, it has now been fixed by Canon's Firmware Update 2.0.4.

You should talk to Canon Technical Service ?

On line distribution should not cause an issue .Clips from a Canon 5D mark II @30 fps looks perfectly normal on the web.
