getting into it
on Jan 22, 2010 at 5:14:47 pm

Im trying to produce a skateboarding series for a TV network and they require "HD"submissions for pilots. Ive been shooting with the HG21consumer and its been good but I need to step it up.
Right now im editing on FCE But I want to upgrade to FCP.

I'm looking at purchasing the CANON XH A1S.
Will this be sufficient for shooting skateboarding?
What type of software is good for this camera?

Thanks,Wes

An XH-A1s with FCP is a fine combination and would be an ideal cam for skateboarding video...

However, if you're intending to create a show for a network, you should research a bit deeper. The Canon may be sufficient quality for a pilot, but many networks have more specific requirements regarding how you shoot and deliver a show beyond basic "HD" capability. This varies widely among networks, and I have no idea which one you're pitching to, so you need to find out from them.

Thanks. Yeah Im just pitching to a sorta independent TV station. Kinda running outta interest in the project right now myself.
I am a fan of Canon though.
I really need to upgrade my computer before I make my next buy.
