My engineer friend from the local network stopped by today to look at the camera and he wanted to run a test on the XL2, I originally wrote about.
His test was to blacken a 60min tape with TC and put it in the camera to see how it recorded. Since the blacken tape would use the camera in an insert mode, instead of an assemble mode as I had done, by just throwing the new tape into the camera.
The results were that the blacken TC tape recorded fine and played back in the camera VCR, the Panasonic DV2000 and the Sony DSR80's all without any problem.
The final outcome is, that now after the servicing from the Canon Service Center, the XL2 runs at an incorrect speed in the assemble mode.
Has anyone seen this happen before, have any suggestion or is sending the camera back Canon, the only solution?
