Analog line in on the Canon GL 1
on Aug 9, 2006 at 1:10:33 pm

I'm trying to record some analog footage into a Mini DV Tape with my Canon GL1. I followed the steps as are mentioned on the instructions manual. I connnected the S-Video to the camera, in the VCR mode I press Rec Pause button and then when I released the pause bottom, the camera doesn't record and the following message appears "Check the DV input".
What I'm doing wrong?

This is the procedure for recording analog to Mini-DV with a GL2. Check the owner's manual for your GL1 but it's probably similar:

Go to VCR setup > AV-DV Out in the camera menu. Set this to OFF. Now the signal should be sent through to the RCA/S-Video conections instead of the DV/Firewire connection.
