help figuring out why the white balance seems off
on Aug 19, 2005 at 10:40:28 pm

I was shooting with my GL2 today, set up lights and went to manually white balance, like I always do. For some reason the colors were reading too yellowish/reddish after white balancing. When I turned the white balance off, the colors rang true, but each time I tried to manually white balance, it set everything too yellowish/reddish. Can anyone out there help me figure out why this might be and how to correct? Thanks!

No--no windows in the room at all--I had total control. I'm wondering if perhaps I accidentally had the camera mode set at "auto" instead of "manual" even though I set the focus on manual and I was manually white balancing. If that is the default, perhaps, maybe that would screw with the white balance? Any thoughts?
thanks-
