Depends. I'd rather have a flash drive with a file I can put on my iPhone. Offer both and please everyone

We haven't been asked for a DVD deliverable in over a year. All online. Though we have delivered on flash drives before for a particular client, the inability to easily have a flash drive autoplay eventually became a deal breaker.

Along those same lines, what delivery format is best for flash drive delivery? I would like to make a stand-alone file with a format along the lines of an iTunes movie - you load the file and see a menu (a la DVD menu) where you can select various chapters or video files within the overall project (a la DVDs/Blurays).

Is there a way to make such a self-contained file? I searched for it, but my search-fu is weak today.

Since I'm a Flash developer, that would be my first inclination. However, in the past we've used Autoplay Media Studio, which has a much shorter learning curve.

IF you're using Adobe Encore to author your DVD's, all you have to do is simply click a check box to have it output the project, menus and all, into a Flash project, ready to use.

But we've all been there. During the 'crossover' period between VHS and DVD, I built a 10 deck VHS dubbing system that I could burn 10 VHS tapes simultaneously directly from my editing machine's timeline. We used it once and never got another order for VHS. I have a 10 DVD duplication machine under my desk that I haven't used since this time last summer.

If you use Encore (CS6) to export to Flash, where all can it be played? Is it only on computers or could a user plug it into a DVD/Bluray player or television with a USB port and still be able to play it?

[Michael Head] "If you use Encore (CS6) to export to Flash, where all can it be played?"

It's only for computer playback.
