A customer has had difficulty playing the DVDs I create even though I test them on everything from a cheap supermarket player to a BluRay machine. Her player is 4 years old. I have sent her a head-cleaning disc - to no avail.
I'd be grateful for any thoughts you may have about making a disc as compatible as possible.
If the laser diode in the player is weak, the player will have difficulty playing burned DVDs. This issue is usually the problem when a DVD player has difficulty playing all burned DVDs, but it will play all replicated DVDs without any problem.
I have seen laser diodes go weak in players as little as six months old.
