Shooting 720P50 - making SD DVD using BitVice

So, we're in the HD ocean. Having used BitVice for years, I now shoot 720P50. What should I think of when bringing my ProRes422 ref movie to BV?

(Since we have an Aja IoHD, I figure using ProRes422 would be the best, although our HPX500 shoots using the DVCProHD codec?)

Well of course you are only making SD DVD's in BitVice, so it has to downscale from your HD ProRes which it does very well indeed. I just drag my QT .mov ProRes 422 HQ into BV and it does the encode. I'm not sure what your question is other than to check this workflow. I'm shooting PAL 1920 X 1080i at 25fps but provided you set your field correctly there should be no problems for you.

My question was if there's a "better" codec than 422?

Should I go for HQ?

Since I shoot progressive, I just un-tick the "interlaced input" in BV, and uses some amount of Purifier (it will improve the downscaling, according to the BitVice author). Then I guess I don't have to worry about field order.

The HPX500 uses DVCProHD, but there's no such setting in FCP7?

I figure I have to transcode (in Log and Transfer) to the codec chosen. ProRes or any other?
