Progressive DVD: Workflow ?
on Dec 22, 2012 at 2:50:00 am

Hey there,

I've got kind of a workflow question.

All of my footage is 25p and I'm editing with AVID MCP5 @ 25pPal 16:9

so, when it comes to authoring the dvd:
do i keep my 25p until that process and Adobe Encore encodes everything to interlaced flagged as progressive? (since interlaced is the only allowed standard for dvds?

that's how it should work, right?

Because "Progressive-source video is usually encoded on DVD as interlaced field pairs that can be reinterleaved by a progressive player to recreate the original progressive video."

or is there a benefit of importing and editing the whole footage as interlaced from the beginning on?
