.mov to MPEG-4 AVC elementary stream h264 codec for Blu-ray authoring

Hi all,

Editing on MAC - FCP7, exporting 1920 x 1080 prores .mov files.
Authoring on PC - Avid DVDit Pro HD (works OK for Blu-ray)

Problem: Mov files have different gamma looks on PC and Mac.
Want to convert .mov file to MPEG-4 AVC elementary stream (h264 coded) on Mac and then import that
file into DVDit Pro HD on the PC.
Reasons for this conversion -
1. avoid the .mov gamma look difference between Mac & PC by doing conversion on Mac first.
2. The MPEG-4 AVC elementary stream (h264 codec) is Blu-ray compliant video and will not requite further transcoding within DVDit Pro HD.

Can anyone recommend conversion/encode software that will accomplish this?
Thanks....

if you want to encode H264 on mac you´ve only got a few options:

- adobe media encoder
- mainconcept reference
- apple compressor
- episode pro

if you use adobe media encoder, you might better look at the black level & brightness if you are using CS6. it´s got a bug, i don´t know if they fixed it now. CS5 and 5.5 was ok.

mainconcept the same, could not create original color.

I would have a look at compressor or episode

cheers

danny
