How to burn a large video to DVD.
on Jun 11, 2010 at 8:41:44 pm

I finished shooting my footage using a Canon HG10 & HG20.
Log & Transfered, then edited in FCP.
Exported it as a Quicktime .mov.
It came to 77gb.
How can I make this into a DVD?
As I write this at work, I am using Compressor at home to "shrink" it to YouTube size (my usual method), but as it progresses, the amount of time left seems to increase.
If you could recommend software, tutorials, "magic bullets" to help me get this to work, I will be eternally grateful.
I admit, I am one of those foolish people who buy the necessary (expensive) things to "create my vision", then become lost when the equipment doesn't come with a "create my vision" button.
Thanks for anything you can send my way.
Michael

It's all in your DVD Studio Pro manual, sadly we can't read it for you. Or Cliff's Notes:

Basically what you are asking is how do I make a DVD. Have you even opened the manual, looked for a simple tutorial?

DVD has nothing to do with YouTube so you are wasting your time there.

(reluctantly dragging himself to the den/office, mumbling)

"Manual? I don't need no stinking manual. Them guys is full of it."

(opens manual, begins to read)

"Hey, there's...stuff in here...(reads more)...and more stuff....AND EVEN STUFF THAT TELLS ME HOW TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM I HAVE!!...I'll be damned, these manual thingees might just work afterall.."

Sorry for the noob attitude.
Lesson learned.

Glad to see someone can take "read the manual" as a good sport, great response, not only will this make you a better author, it will make you a better man.

When you hit a road block post that questions, we are here to help.
