Locking SD .m2v files in normal view mode?
on Jul 8, 2008 at 10:53:06 am

Other than letterboxing, is there a setting in FCP, Compression, or DVD SP (or a plugin, for that matter) that will prevent my SD .m2v video from expanding beyond the normal view mode in clients' computers during playback?

Thanks.

What do you mean- you really can't do much to control how large a DVD player plays on a client's computer. That's up to them.

Yep, that's exactly what I mean. In Apple's DVD Player, go to Toolbar, Video, Normal Size.

Does anyone else know of a way to program an SD .m2v file so that it cannot be expanded beyond its 720 x 480 size when viewed on a computer?

There is no way that this function is possible. The is nothing that controls what is going on other than the viewer.

yeah not possible with a DVD. Of course you could always sit that and slap their knuckles if they try to resize it. Any particular purpose for this? Maybe we can suggest something else.
