Argggh! DVDSP or the internal Pioneer burner is killing me!!!

I seem to be able to toast .imgs OK, but to actually burn a DVD from SVDSP is impossible. This is the error I'm getting now:

Start formatting
Formatting as Standard DVD
Simulation mode is off
Lossless linking is on
Number of layers is 1
Doing side 1 of 1
Playable in region 1,2,3,4,5,6,8
Disc size is 12 cm
Disc has no copyright material
Writing ISO 9660 directories
Writing UDF 1.02 structures
Writing files
The recording device reported the hardware error: Internal target failure. (0x44, 0x00.)
The recording device reported the hardware error: Internal target failure. (0x44, 0x00.)

It's suggesting the problem is with the burner. Anyone seen this before?

I think you are always better off doing an Advanced Burn and build the disc to your hard drive then burn with toast....you don't have to burn an IMG file, but the actual VideoTS and AudioTS files in Toast. Using this workflow you will be able to easily make more copies if you need them.

One thing to try, if you insist on burning out of DVDSP is to try trashing the compressor prefs and maybe the Finder Prefs.
