tough project issue
on Nov 16, 2006 at 5:56:31 pm

hi there,

i have to do a dvd.project with the following concept and need some help...

sounds easy, like a multiangle structure, but with one difficult issue:

there are 13 versions of a movie. one of them is showing in the
main-screen, that should work as a kind of graphic-menu/interface, too.
by selecting the buttons in the mainscreen (where the main-movie is
running) you should be able to switch to each one of the 12 other versions seamlessly.
BUT: like an other angle-view in a multiangle-dvd it should not start at the beginning of the movies, but using one absolute time for all the different versions.
for example: you are at 5'41" in the main movie and push the menu-button #6, so it should switch seamless to movie #6 at 5'41" ...

it should be some kind of a multiangle-like structure but with graphical buttons to select the different views, instead of simply switching through the angle-views by using the angle-button on the remote control ...

any suggestions?
what software should i use?

thanks a lot!!!

This would be a button over video situation but changing angles with buttons over video would be difficult if not impossible. I believe I've heard of a company up in San Fransisco that may have done something like this. would need a Scenarist or the Panasonic authoring system to accomplish this

You must use Sonic Scenarist software. And create multi-angle video-track.
But - only 8 angles can be in track...
