Never had any luck with Verbatims. I prefer- TDK, Maxell or Sony.

I just recieved a small pack from Verbatim and here are a few of my opinions (only about the printing surface)

a) It really is glossy!
b) It takes a while to dry up.
c) Once the disk is dry and if it is exposed to any humidity, then the ink start "dripping".

While I like the concept of these glossy printables, I am not sure that this would survive for a long time. With its price almost twice than Taiyo Yuden and a print surface that drips after any exposure to humidity or moisture, there still isn't a solution for glossy discs.

I hear Maxell was supposed to come out with these earlier this year...my supplier doesn't have them yet but they might be out there. I too do not use Verbatim. Only Maxell pretty exclusively.

I have a feeling the media you are talking about is for dye sub printers and not inkjet...the long drying time and the dripping ink when wet are the telltale signs.

Nope. It's inkjet media, directly from Verbatim's PR department.

I'm seeing post elsewhere about TDK glossy inkjet printables. I don't find any of these listed yet on the supplier websites. Anyone else have any experience with these? If inkjet can print fine on glossy photopaper, what's the reason it's taking so long to get a glossy disc?
