SECAM DVDS?
on May 18, 2006 at 9:19:12 am

Hi guys,

we are pitching for some work for a local Airport - and they want a DVDs that can be used across the world - PAL NTSC and Secam.

I have had experience in NTSC DVD authoring (using DVDSP) and not had any problems - but never any experience in creating Secam DVDs - or if I can even do this.

I have had a look at the various tv standards and am thinking that a PAL region 0 DVD might work on Secam based TVs -in France, Africa and the like. Obviously whether NTSC PAL or otherwise, the DVD will be region 0.

Can anyone help or has anyone done this before?

Xavier

SECAM is just a modified version of PAL. DVD only supports PAL and NTSC. A PAL disc will play fine in SECAM land.

Also, NTSC discs will play in almost all PAL players as well
