Switching to 4K to a 1080P

Hi,

I'm looking to start a project soon and need some great slow motion. I want to use a GoPro for this as it's 4K and 60FPS slow motion I believe. However, I will only use the GoPro for these slow motion shots and use my SONY NEX VG20 that records in 1080 P/I for a majority of the film. My question is, will the audience notice the difference between 4K and 1080P? (I am still very new to 4K). Or should I just record it in another format?

Thanks for your help.
Tatjana

Forget the GoPro, and just use your Sony (which I think will shoot 60fps).

It's a moot point, as while the GoPro will indeed shoot 4K, it will not overcrank to 60fps at 4K. At 4K the Hero3+ will only shoot 15fps. If you want to shoot 60fps with the GoPro, your highest possible resolution is 1080. So you might as well use the Sony... the footage will match, and it's a fair bit closer to being a "real" camera than the GoPro is, anyway.
