Jib & DSLR Question
on Apr 3, 2014 at 10:03:40 am

Hi, we make short wedding movies for our clients.

Lately we have shot few high audience count and big dance parties, which is tough for the floor camera team to shoot, also we dont get any good creative shoots, so Im thinking to get a 12ft jib and attach my 5D Mark3 to it, so that we can take some nice shots and use it then.

I chose this,
http://www.amazon.com/Indy-Jib-Camera-Crane-Stand/dp/B001L9K8CE/

Can someone please throw some light, how am I supposed to see the preview ?

Also, if anyone wants to suggest something regarding this, please let me know.

The operator on the ground typically uses a monitor.

[Soumendra Jena] "Im looking for a package deal. 12ft jib + monitor + cables."

You're unlikely to find that exactly. People usually buy these components separately and put together packages exactly to their liking... the jib from whomever their preference is, monitor of their favorite flavor (which usually pulls double duty off the jib), and obviously cables are a no-brainer.

I'm not aware of any companies that sell an "all-in-one" and "already put together" jib and monitor package. If you do find one, its likely to be lowest of the low-end gear.

This is not hard. Buy the jib you like. Buy the monitor you like. Connect. Enjoy.

Understood.

I need to find a good jib for a good price first, which can do tilt and pan , and then I will buy the cables, weights and monitor separately.

Do you know any to recommend ?
