French flag problem
on Mar 27, 2010 at 7:55:13 pm

I recently purchased a used video camera package that included a Chrosziel matte box with an attached french flag. The flag won't stay in place and instead "droops" down into the shot. There is not enough friction to hold it in place, and there doesn't seem to be any tightening screw to adjust it. Any advice on how to make it functional? Thanks.

the wingnut is to tighten it.
If it's stripped or not waorking for some other reason, you can always rig it. You'd be surprised how much frinction one can create with a lil creative bending.

Pinching the hinge areas with pliers may help as well. Your flag surrendered?:-)

Thanks, guys. There's no wingnut on this model, but the pliers did the trick.

There are a bunch of tiny washers/spacers in the eyebrow axel. You may need to add more or re-orient them so that the wing-nut creates enough friction to hold the eyebrow.
