Ideas on mounting LCD monitor to camera

I would like to mount my JVC 9" monitor to my camera. I have seen lots of arm and clamp combinations and would like ideas on what readers use. The monitor weighs in at 3kg/6lb. There was a single arm system shown on the IKON website that looked interesting but it looked like it would only work with their monitors.

Thanks

Zacuto has a great articulated arm for this, I used it with the panny monitor.

On some shoots I run the left side arm of the tripod forewards and a bit to the left/below the lens and mount my Panasonic 9" on that so the monitor sits level with the mattebox. I have found this position at times to be better than on top of the camera as the center of gravity remains more constant, less fulcrum effect on the tripod head.

Matthew,
I agree completely that it is not always optimal to mount the monitor to the camera itself, the JVC is pretty heavy actually and can really mess up the balance. What kind of arm/mount do you use?
thanks

I like the Ultralight Control System. I got mine at Filmtools.com. The joints tighten down better that the Noga style arms and you can get a variety if arm sizes that interchanges for any configuration. I use mine with the 8" Panasonic monitor and it works great. I also like the bracket that attaches to the monitor itself. It grips tight, and has a platform to give the monitor more support.

Best of luck!
