I'm a newbie DP that just shot a Short...

Hey,

I'm a newbie DP that just shot a short with a small crew for a horror contest.
I was wondering if some seasoned cinematographers can check out our film and give me some advice/ comments and pointers.

I shot it with an HVX, no 35mm adaptor--
Our key light was an arri650 with a green bowl rigged in front of it as a diffusion and green gel substitute,
and we lit the room with another 650 bounced off of the wall,frame-right;
and for our fill: a 300 in a chimera

I wouldn't call myself a seasoned cinematographer, but I thought it was very well done. The green light gave everything a sickly feel and the erratic camera moves added to the urgency and drama, IMO. Besides that, I'm just really glad it wasn't another zombie movie. Good work.

Good: Nice color. Lots of action. Great sound. Shot from a lot of angles (editors love that). Good acting.

Could have been better: The camera shake was OK, but the zoom in-out is too much for me. In post you could have desaturated the green a little, it would have bring up the red.

Great storytellers. Let us know of your next project.
