Is the New GY-HD100U comparable to lower end DVC PRO HD?
on Jun 15, 2005 at 8:41:15 pm

Hi,

I am looking at filming a small project for a musuem this summer and have been wondering what camera I should shoot the project in. I have looked at renting the Panasonic AK-HC930 DVC PRO HD progressive scan camera. But now after alot of research I think that with the proper lighting I could do the project in DV and possible upr convert to HD. I have heard some good things and a negative thing about the new sony camera HVR-Z1U Camcorder. The negative thing being that it is not so good with recording movement. THe JVC camera might work but I don't know anything about it. Can anybody please give me a idea on the JVC camera and how it is compared to DVC PRO HD. Is it similiar in quality as the DVC PRO HD and just JVC version that compets against the DVC PRO HD line. Please let me know.

When it comes to chips is the JVC GY-HD100u Camera the comparable camera to what Panasonic will be coming out with in the fall.
