Blend Warm and Cool White
on Apr 11, 2015 at 6:22:08 am

Hi all,
I'm working with a system where I can dimmer 2 type of lights: Warm White (2600 °K) and a Cool White (8000 °K).

What I'm tring to do is to find a formula/correlation to calculate the dimmer to apply to each single light to manage different color temperature.

So far I'm starting from a Temp. (eg 5000 °K). I convert the this to xc and yc coordinates. Then I convert them to XYZ values.
At this step I know that my two light have xyY coos. What I can mange to dimmer is only the Y component (luminance).

Does anybody know a way to find the two Y coos to apply to Warm and Cool lights to reach the desired white color temp?

thanks

Can you not afford a color temperature meter?

Yes, I can.
Is what I did so far to understand color coordinates shifts temperature derating of leds.
My aim is to do an automatic control where I can set a Color Temperature and the algorithm set Warm and Cool to reach the desired temp.
