Im currently quoting for a large-ish Fitness DVD shoot - there will be 5-10 performers in a basketball sized hall.

The 'cheap' set up (will be offering a more expensive option too)! would include the following light spec:

'Continuous Lighting 5400K, 85W (500w equivalent) pure white daylight bulbs'
http://www.amazon.co.uk/PhotoSEL-LS21E52-Professional-Lighting-Softboxes/dp...

I also have a third light with similar power, as well as a cheap LED light panel on the front of the central autoque camera.

Would this be adequate enough? Or should I look to rent some lights out? Any suggestions?

LOL. The SB in the link you provided is about enough light to do a fill on a one person portrait type set up.
There is not a lot of info in your OP about the look, how much fall off you want, if any, what kind of DoF, camera, lens, etc, but if you are talking about generically lighting something around 50' x 100', you are going to need at least 5-6K worth of light. More if you shoot through an overhead or butterfly.

You should consider consulting with and hiring someone that has experience and knows how to light large areas.

Rent three 4kw HMI Helium balloon lights .....or four 2.5kw HMI Helium balloon lights .... and be done with it.
It'll be a quick set-up, soft even light, just enough intensity of the correct color temperature ...and (most importantly) very forgiving for someone who doesn't know what he's doing.
