Lighting for operating theatre

I shoot operations and things aren't always well lit for me as the camera operator. Fine for the surgeon, but I'm at a 45-90 degree angle to him.

I can't bring stand alone lights into the theatre, so I was wondering if the Lite Panels Micro would be suitable.

Attached is a gory pic so don't click on it if you don't like this stuff. I circled the bits that look too dark to me and that I think would be improved by the addition of this light. It mightn't add to the overall information of the piece, I just want it to look less gloomy in places.

Martin,

Having photographed several surgeries in the past I know what you're talking about, and I think that a small LED light with dimming capability would be a very good choice. While I own several LitePanels, my preference is for the Zylight which also has the ability to dial in any color temperature.

Here's a link to the unit on the Abel web site:

Thanks for that, John. Looks good. I think the Zylight's price excludes it from contention for me (or, should I say, my boss).
