Avid - Original frame size and format
on Jul 23, 2015 at 9:57:34 am

Hi,
I have a current project in Avid 7 and all my media is in the edit as DNx36, but is there a way to filter out what went in as 4K originally? Some of our stuff is 4K and some is in at HD.

My current project has media from the following cameras:
FS7, Red Dragon, Red Epic, A7S, C300, XF105, Arri Amira and Gopro.
Mostly I think that the FS7s have mixed 4K and HD formats.
I found columns for FrameWidth and FrameHeight but that's not giving me any information...

Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks in advance.

Was all the media AMA linked and transcoded? If so, look for AMA Plug-in column to see if that helps you. It will at least help with the RED files.

Hi Michael, unfortunately, half the media was transcoded through DaVinci so I know that won't have any meta data information within it.
The AMA Plugin column is empty with everything I know that I AMA'd in through Avid...

Hmmm... I wish Avid would keep more historical metadata when AMA linking and transcoding. That being said, you might be able to identify sources via the filename which would now be in the TAPE column for the DaVinci transcoded material. Red is 16 characters in length, I think Arri is 18, etc.
