 | Autosync Format question (Media Composer 7)

Hi all,
Avid noob (and like it a lot, so far).
Quick question. I have some clips that were not auto-synced. They were on an HD timeline and the format field in the bin reads that they are HD (1080p, 29.97). I've inherited the project and on this particular shoot I see that they shot 23.976 and 29.97. So, this is some of the 29.97 media.
The assistant set up the clips on a 23.976 timeline (default for this project, I'm guessing because the bulk of the shoots are 23.976).
When I auto-sync the clips, the format for the auto-synced sub is SD/23.976. I get the 23.976 because of the timeline it's being subclipped from. But can anyone briefly explain what is up with the SD? Like I said, I've inherited this project and we are now without an assistant, so I'm just trying to work my way through it.
Any advice appreciated,
Steve
PS: I'm also looking for a good PluralEyes/DSLR workflow with Avid. If anyone knows of a link to any good articles, I'll be reading up on that this weekend.
