Greetings!

I am trying to output a 5.1 surround sequence to s 50 Mbp/s MXF with 5.1 surround (6 Channels of Audio) from AVID 5.5.3.7.

The only way I know how to ouput an MXF from AVID is:
Select the 5.1 sequence, Output -> Export to Device -> XDCAM...

However, the outputted MXF is still stereo. So I changed the audio output setting to "direct out" and assigned the proper channels to the proper tracks.

Still Stereo.

There are almost Zero options in the XDCAM MXF dialogue box, so I can't change it there. Is there a setting that I am missing? Can you even output to XDCAM in 5.1 surround? If so, how do you do it? Is there a plugin I need? Is there a different way to output an MXF? I can't seem to find anything online (Google/Forums/etc).

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: Changed title to be more specific and added some questions.

You may need to encode as Dolby E first if MXF only carries two tracks:

Plug-in for MC, Pro Tools, etc.

And then who ever you send it to will need a dolby E decoder. (Dolby E sounds like static without a decoder)
