Appologies if this is a question that has been answered numerous times before. My editor cut our film in AVID making an AVID friendly file from the RED raw files. How do a link my timeline to the RED raw files so my colorist only colors what we need in Davinci 9?
I heard it's as simple as making an AAF of metadata and then flicking some switch in Davinci so it recognizes the files. But we can't seem to get that to work.
Yes, either and EDL or an AAF. In Resolve you want to link to camera originals (some wording in the import AAF/EDL to that effect). You may want to process a pull list through Redcine X Pro and copy all the native R3D to their own folder to cut down on amount of media to deal with in the Resolve Media Pool.
