Quicktime Will Kind Of Cure Your Jaggies and Aliases

I have been super frustrated when using Avid Pan and Zoom (using photo on desktop!) in a dv 4:3 project (although the project format shouldn't matter). Did all the right things vis a vis rendering. But no matter what I did faces were a mess of fluid flesh.
HOWEVER, after making a QT (h264) all of the jaggies went away, except for hair flutters. Who knew?
Why would the QT make them go away? Not that I'm complainiing, anymore...

Thanks,
John

The codec used probably softened the edges a bit to make it more pleasing. If on MC v7, have you tried FrameFlex on the stills to see if that might work for you?

I'm looking forward to upgrading and getting FrameFlex, it would be great to know that what I'm seeing is what I'll be getting!

Thanks for your response.

John

QuickTime can deinterlace and even drop a field and sometimes plays in non HQ mode.
