video shot at 1080p 29.97 and mastered to720p 59.94 for show

Our post department has been 720 59.94 for years now. Our production team has been shooting 720p 59.94 and at our confernces our shows are 720p 59.94. Currently we have been shooing on DSLRs at 1080p 29.97, C300 at 1080 29.97 and Red camera at 4k 29.97. Our Editors have had issues with work flows and getting the videos to play right with some of our old footage, but have been working that out. Our big issues is playback at our shows. The event company we use tells us that we need to deliever 720p 59.94 video to them if we want it to play correctly at show becuase the whole show is 720p 59.94. Our Editors and production department was then told from the event company that we cant shoot 1080p 29.97 or 4k 29.97 anymore becuase if they were to convert the footage it will add frames and "jitter" or stutter" during play back at shows. Should our editors be edting in the native framerate and then masterting to 720 59.94 or should the convert the 1080p/4k footage at 29.97 to 720 59.94 or should we not use any of these news cameras? Anyone know an answer for anything of this.

Currently we were shooting in 4k 29.97 or 1080p 29.97 converting it, bring it into a 720 59.94 project in avid, edit, and then master to Pro Res 422 and playing on show site through playback pro and projected at 720 59.94

Suggestions, something im missing?

Thanks in advanced.

Well, the Canon DSLRs shoot 720p60. The Red Camera will shoot 60p, but not at 4K. But you are going down to 720p so shooting 4K is really silly. So why not shoot what they want delivered, if they are complaining about how 30fps converts to 60fps?

They are picking nits if you ask me. 30fps played at 60fps looks fine...sure not AS SMOOTH as 60fps, but it looks fine. I think they have a bug up their wazoo or are trying to pull a power trip.

I have seen some funkiness when transcoding 1080p/29.97 to 720p/59.94. One would expect the cleanest method being a 2:2:2:2 pulldown, but it seems (in 6.5 at least) I am getting a clean/blend/clean/blend which look bad on progressive displays.
