AMA confusion..
on Feb 6, 2013 at 8:39:55 pm

Hi all.
I got a test shoot from a canon c300, for testing workflow and so on.. They will start shooting tomorrow.

My problem, if it is a problem, is that when we transcoded or consolidated the clip, I got problems with audio out of sync, and audio jitters. BUT when I AMA the raw footage it plays without a problem.. But I have never worked on a AMA project before and I am a bit reluctant start now, so close to the editing.

Any suggestions how to approach this?

I´m on Mountain lion and Avid mc 5.5.3.5
I´m downloading the new 5.5.3.6 patch as I write and a trial version on 6.5.

Thanks

Our workflow for that camera was to AMA to access the footage, and then CONSOLIDATED it to our media drive. Are you saying that when you consolidate it does this too?

I used MC 6.5 for this...so I'd try that. 5.5 might be too old for this camera.

Another issue for you may be that v5.5.3 is not qualified for any OS above 10.7

If you had the 5.5.3.6 patch you would be qualified for 10.7.5

Here's the link to the version matrix for reference. http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/en_US/Compatibility/en267087

If you have issues with consolidated or transcoded media it sounds like the traget drive for that media may have an issue.
Consolidated media is effectively the same media copied and wrapped as MXF.
