Avid Database Files

Hello community.

Right now I'm doing a lot of Imports with AMC.
And of course every time Avid is creating the .pmr and .mdb files.
What I don't know is the difference, between this two files. I know that both are media database Files and they have information about the source clips. But what exactly are they doing and what is the difference?
Does someone know?

best regards

What does it matter? You need both, they are things you don't mess with until it's time to fix something.

.MDB is the MEDIA DATA BASE, I know that. It's the list of every clip in that numbered folder in the MXF folder. If you make a bin and drag and drop this into it, that bin will populate with every clip in that folder.

Not sure what the other is exactly.

The database files are getting rebuilt each time because whenever you create Avid media the media databases re-index so that your edit system is aware of the new media.

I'm with Shane on this... Don't worry about them. They're small files that serve to keep your media current an online for you to work with.
