Media Composer VS Symphony and Intel HD 3000 Graphics Card

Hey Guys,

QUESTION 1

Quick question. I took advantage of the Crossgrade offer from FCP to Symphony 6 recently. That offer has ended and I'd like to grab another copy. BH still upholds that offer, but AVID does it for media composer only for 500 bucks more. My question though is that can you upgrade to media composer from symphony? I worry about AVID discontinuing symphony so I am wondering whether to pick up another copy of symphony or grab a media composer as well for a future upgrade. Thoughts?

QUESTION 2

I am running a 13" 1280x800 resolution Macbook Pro running Intel HD 3000 graphics card. I am worried about either of these products working on it. Does anybody know if you can use 1280x800 resolution and this graphics card with Symphony/Media Composer 6?

Symphony is the higher end product. So the "upgrade" would be from MC to Symphony. They are EXACTLY THE SAME in practically every way. Symphony has a few more color grading options, and universal mastering.
