Looking for best/ quickest workflow on how to export a aaf or omf to got to a protools 9 daw for mixing from a exclusively AMA linked project. The protools system is connected to the same nas server as the avid machine. Not sure which settings to use

Simply put. You can't. You need to transcode your media to MXF to send it to pro tools. This have changed with 6.0, but with 5.5 and prior this was the case.

So sorry I should have said I was running MC 6. I was getting a weird error at first when i was trying to create a Embedded AAF, but now that i have installed the update I can export a AAF by consolidated the media and then selecting embedded into AAF. still not sure if this is the best way but it works for me.

Thanks for the input guys

Yeah it works just transocoding on export to AAF. I would choose the option which places all your footage in a folder next to the AAF rather then embed it in the file itself. I have never had a problem this way, but have run into several with embedded ones. And OMFs are fine if your seuqences are short but have a file size limit.

OMF, consolidate and Embeded.
Should make a single file .omf and check the size. a few k and it has no audio. Megs + and it does contain the audio.
