I take so much from these forums, I thought I would give back a little tidbit I just discovered.

If you Option click on the "render effect" button, it bypasses the dialogue window where it ask you where you want to save the effect. Awesome!

PS-I'm finding out that option clicking open up a whole host of great things. Try it!

If you like a more colorful timeline (or less colorful) than the standard colors available, try holding the Option/Alt button while selecting any color.

Hi, Ed
my question doesn't relate to this thread.

I use the apple magic mouse , left and right movements was to scroll the timeline back and forth.
it's a quick way to get from one part of the timeline to the other.

now for some reason, the horizontal movement scales the timeline instead of scrolling it.

Any way to change this?
Many thanks.

Hi Joy,
Yes, that is rather annoying. I could not find a solution for this issue and have switched to a more "standard" mouse. I also found that the sensitivity around the edges of the mouse made erratic movements.

Maybe someone else has found a solution to your problem.
Sorry. Take care.

Hi Ed:

I think I've found the solution.

Apparently, in timeline setting, there is a checkbox labeled "position bar"
I used to have it checked.

What it does is showing a whole timeline at the very bottom (looked like ruler measurement) to allow you to park your cursor anywhere on that bar to be able to jump where you want to be in timeline.

and apparently, make your magic mouse horizontal movement doing scaling as well. (for some reason I wouldn't understand.)

After I removed the box, my scrolling on timeline function restored.

I feel like I can breathe again. lol
