Ok. Maybe I am indeed dreaming but is it going to be easier to transfer all my bins from a fcp7 project to avid mc 6 since we can fast import all my prores media?

I just want to transfer my bins with all my synced media. I haven't found a way to do it that actually works.
I tried the ALE and automatic duck, that is actually free now, but it's all right with sequences, not with the original logged bins.

So long as your happy to bake your clips together so that the sound and video are no longer seperate, it will certainly be quicker to get them in to MC6, yes. You could just export a QT ref for every one and then fast import that into Avid. (Fast export tip - makes sure colour space is set to 601/709 in the import settings)

yeah. That's indeed a good idea but I guess I am dreaming of a simpler solution.

The problem is that there's no NLE faster than Avid editing fiction. I miss my trim tools so much while on FCP. dammm.

Ok. Enough dreaming, back to work.

Avid will import the media, but not the bin structure, nor clips that have been sync'd in FCP. You'd have to start over in Avid.

you may want to check out and see if the Automatic duck software works for you. Since the guys went to work Adobe they are now offering their software translators for free. i haven't tried any of it yet but its worth a look.

I use Boris' tool, which is pretty good too.
