Where to stay in Las Vegas for NAB

Hi,
Where to stay for the NAB convention?
Rooms are booking fast. I usually stay at the Gold Coast but, the cheaper rooms are already booked. The Orleans is the sister hotel and they have some rooms still available if you want to stay off the strip and a little distance away.
Here's a list of hotels and average prices per night to help you out at the time of the NAB convention. Also, don't forget, every hotel charges resort fees and taxes per night.
See you at NAB,

You can beat most of these prices booking directly through the NAB Housing site and many of the hotels do not charge resort fees and give you free wi-fi - big savings! For years NAB veterans warned me of booking though the NAB site - BAD ADVICE!!! You can save a lot of cash booking via NAB Housing site - especially if you book early.

If you're staying off the Strip I highly recommend the Eastside Cannery!

It's on the Boulder Strip next to Sam's Town and is awesome! Stayed there the last 2 NAB's for $39 per night and it's only 10-15 min. drive to Conv Center. Great rooms and excellent buffet and food choices! Live music in the Lounge every night.

Some years, you can beat the NAB rates. I had Rio last year for $22/night for Sun-Wed. Another year I stayed downtown, and got Golden Nugget at $99 for the Gold Club room. There's still places you can beat NAB, mostly downtown (Fremont, PLaza, Golden Gate, Main Street Station). It seems all the hotels on the strip are holding their rates up during the week of NAB, even if they are not a NAB hotel.

Four years ago, Tropicana stopped being a show hotel and we had that very cheap. This year it's as expensive or more than Monte Carlo (our place this year @$108).

Nab rates are going up as hotels fill up. If you book and the rate goes down they will re-book at the lower rate. If rate goes up, you still get the lower rate.

This year, NAB rates are a good deal lower than booking through any other travel site.

[Richard Campbell] "Nab rates are going up as hotels fill up. If you book and the rate goes down they will re-book at the lower rate. If rate goes up, you still get the lower rate."

Which is why it's always wise to check with them first....although, as you note, sometimes you can beat 'em, and of course, not every hotel has an NAB rate.

Don't dilly-dally though. The Venetian is already sold out. I stayed there for 2 NABs. I know that it's a generation "old" now, but an amazing hotel. One of my favorites in the world, and having stayed at 75+/yr during my peak travel years, that means something...

Hi NAB Attendies,

The good rates at Gold Coast Hotel are sold out so I called their sister hotel Orleans which has a special going on right now. The prices dropped form $75 a night to $56 a night plus $6.00 resort fee and add taxes. I stayed there in the past and really liked it there plus the location is good.

Happy Travels

Keep in mind if you book one of the hotels listed on the NAB site - even if you get a better deal somewhere else - you'll have a free shuttle to the convention center. If you stay off strip add the cost of taxis etc to your daily tab.

If you're looking for the cheapest NAB hotel on the Strip check out the Riviera - they completely remodeled on of their towers and have decent rooms for around $69 per nite - and you can walk to the convention center via a rear pathway.
