How do I reset Invigorator Defaults?
on Dec 19, 2006 at 10:01:52 pm

I accidentally ( I really don't know how I did it ) screwed up something in my Invigorator defaults. When I create a new object ( normally by opening an AI file ), it comes in all askew... flipped about the X, Y, and Z axis ( what is the plural form of that word... axises?? ). I can move the object to get it correct again, but it appears I have somehow set this wild orientation as a default, as everything comes in that way now.

Where are the defaults for Invigorator ( 4.0 plug-in for AE )?

Joe

Joe,

Try the "reset" command at the top of the Invigorator effect in the effects control panel.

That was my first thought, but will that zap my saved materials, etc.?

Hi Joe,

Don't think so, but you can always save your customized materials library separately.

The Reset command will only reset the values in the Effect Controls Window. It won't affect anything inside of the Invigorator's SetUp window.

It sounds like you have moved and rotated and scaled Set 1. Then when you bring new objects into the Project they automatically get put into Set 1 which have some crazy transformation going on. To fix this you can either:
1- Dump this project and start with a new one.
2- Change the Position/Rotation/Scale values for Set 1 back to 0,0,0 / 0,0,0 and 100% for scale.
3- In the Invigorator's User Prefs, change which Set objects are put into by default.

If after resetting your Effect Window Transforms you find that the objects are still cock-eyed, then you are probably transforming them inside of the Set-Up window, possibly in an attempt to get them back to normal.

Hope that helps,
Zax

Yes! That explains it. Thanks...

The "reset" works as well, but I needed to do both to fix the problem.

Thanks again.
