Interactive Tour Competition Idea?
on Sep 7, 2006 at 9:19:46 pm

Hi, rather foolishly I come to this board when seeking online social I know this forum is mostly dominated by technical help forum posts, rather than general Media100 users socialising, nonetheless....although only having my humble 7.5 system still...I'm enjoying being a Media100 fanboy, and watching all their new announcements, and improvements with avid interest...but one thing that really let me down was the interactive tour of Media100 that they have on their website.

Did anyone else, start out really excited, and then watch it, and think it was lame? Only one of my systems has Quicktime 7, so I did like how it worked on Quicktime 5 and 6 even, but...two key let downs - dunno if it was just my computer's frame rate, but it appeared to be a collection of still a kinda slideshow, which, for a video, from a video editing company, is a bit "'eh?"....and secondly, and most obviously - the voice over person doesn't have a consistant volume - that's probably the worst offender. It sounds like he's getting nearer to the microphone in some parts, and further away from it in others (perhaps turning away to look at something more interesting?)....and it just doesn't sound that rivetting.
Although to be fair and balanced, it is very informative, and well scripted, with clear screenshots.

Nonetheless, if I had more time, and the latest system, I'd do one myself. Lol. But that made me think - maybe Media100 ought to hold a competition, for one of its fans / users to wax lyrical about the programme, and really do a good enthusiastic tour of the software, hardware, feature set, etc, and in return, maybe win a new system or something. ^_^ Heh-heh.

Any Media100 staff reading this think it a good idea? Or should I email M100 directly, with the suggestion?
Any any creativecow readers like the idea of having a go at making their own M100 tour video? Lol. Or are you all like me, in the middle of a project, with little time to spare atm?
