We've created a VR 360 animation to be used on Samsung VR devices at a trade show, and I have a question.
Does our client always need either a wifi connection or cellular service to view this 360 video with interactivity?

So if they are in a trade show booth in a convention center, what options do they have to be able to have customers view the animation while looking up, down, to the side, and behind them as they move their heads with it to work flawlessly.

Do they always need to have some type of engine to make this work? Or is there something built in to a Samsung phones that allows this to happen without cellular or wifi service.

Thanks so much.

Guessing you could set up a local network and stream that way- this might help:

We wrote our own player. We needed some playback features that were not available with existing solutions, but we also wanted control over the entire UX.

You might just be able to use the stock Oculus player with these instructions:

Yup. Gear VR is powered by Oculus tech and requires installation of several Oculus apps (not too be confused with Rift).
