I'm working with the new Samsung Gear 360 (2017) and I need to be able to stitch the video to a single flat equirectanglular video.

Looks like there are a number of software solutions that cost ~$1000 but I would love to know if it's something i can accomplish within After effects or Premiere.

Avid Adreneline - MC 3.1
Avid Nitrous - Symphony
Avid Mojo - MC 3.0.1
Final Cut Pro 6.0.3

Hi John,

The new Gear 360 should come with software that will do the stitching for you on your phone. The samples I've seen posted online look excellent. Did you get any software with your Gear 360?

No software with this new model the old model had some Cyberlink software ship with it but nada on this one.

Here's an update though:
It seems that I can upload the video to my dropbox from the IOS Gear360 APP. This gives me a equirectanglular image @ 3840 × 1920. Camera raw is 2 circular images @ 4096 × 2048.

I'm having an issue injecting the spatial media metadata into that equirectanglular video, so I've pulled the clip into premiere and re-exported h.264 Match Source.

Note: The app gives you an option to upload to YouTube Creator but doesn't inject 360 metadata so it's an unusable youtube video.

[John Kennedy] "Note: The app gives you an option to upload to YouTube Creator but doesn't inject 360 metadata so it's an unusable youtube video."

They really need to fix that.

If you want to skip the extra step of going into Premiere, you can download and use Google's metadata injector applet here:

https://github.com/google/spatial-media/releases/tag/v2.0

If you want to work with the RAW files, AutoPano Video Pro 2 is a bit pricy but works well:
