Back in January I posted on CreativeCow related to filming 360 degree video with a green screen. As a production assistant I wanted to understand the possible requirements of the job. The advice that I got here really helped me to understand some of the key concepts of 360 degree cinematography.
I'm continuing to feel an interest in VR as a field but it's really way out of my area of expertise and I'm not sure where to start learning. There's such a bewildering variety of resources, projects and articles written about it. I was just wondering whether there's any particular books, articles or VR projects that anyone would recommend that would be a good place for someone with a new interest in VR to begin?
I want to know more about the basic technology involved in VR, what's already been accomplished in the field, and possible future applications. I'd particularly like to know more about its potential uses for storytelling, art and cinema, e.g. Google's Tilt Brush. VR is an amazing field and it seems that it is only going to become more and more important in the future, but it's difficult to know where to start.
