Black holes in Virb 360 Edit Hyperframe export
on Feb 11, 2018 at 12:08:54 pm

Hi
I am looking for a workflow to remove the black disks visible in the Hyperframe export from Virb 360 Edit. In my shot the camera is fixed on a stand with a round base-plate. I was thinking that I could mask out the section of picture that offends and insert a cloned view to remove the camera mount which is directly under the camera. I would do this in the stitched video file and then import into Virb 360 Edit. I also am puzzled by the black disk which appears directly above the camera.
Can anyone suggest a workflow?
Many thanks
Peter

Hi Peter,

Those holes at the nadir and zenith are the result of poor stitching. What's your stitching workflow?

Hi David
Thanks for your prompt response.
Since your answer I have re-created the clip and don't have that problem anymore!
For your information my workflow is:
1. Capture with Yi360 VR camera in 5.7k
2. Join clips with ffmpeg (optional)
3. Stitch with Mistaka
4. Inject Metadata with Spatial Media Metadata Injector
5. Create "camera flight" with VIRB Edit
6. View with DetuPlay

Thanks
Peter
