Converting LOG Cineon Image Seq to Linear Quicktime File using Kona 3..
on Feb 3, 2007 at 7:57:17 am

Hi All,

Can I convert a LOG DPX Image Sequence (10 Bit 2K Scanned from Film Neg.) to a Quicktime File in the Linear Space?

I have a LUT (Lookup Table) that the Lab gave us.

I tried DPXtoQuicktime Translator, but it doesn't have an option to specify the LUT and do the conversion.
My have a Kona 3, but all my data is on Hard-drives.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards,
Rajnesh

Try SilverStack from Pomfort : http://pomfort.com/silverstack/

I can't exactly remember if it allows you to specify a LUT but it can linearize your LOG files through a LOG-LIN toggle but this application does a whole lot more. If you need to batch convert DPX LOG files to Quicktime, you need to seriously check this application out. It will even allow you to burn info such as the DPX frame number, timecode, name...etc onto your Quicktime movie files. Great for file based workflow.

However this application is still on beta and you can download the latest Beta 2 to try out. It should hit the shelf pretty soon.

What kind of a LUT have you got from the lab. Meaning what system created this LUT?
