Help I can't open my project in FCP 5.1.2. When I try and open my project I get "This project is unreadable or may be too new for this version of Final Cut". I am using the latest version...and have been for over 3 weeks with no problem.

Sad and scary thing is that I have commited the greatest editing sin of not making backups and or using autosave vault. Ouch!

I am on a a dual 2.5 G5 with 8gb ram and aja kona 2 hardware. My media is JVCHD capture 720p and last thing I did before crash was click on media in one of my bins.

PLEASE....help anyone...

Hector
ps

have tried trashing prefs, copying proj, renaming it, etc.

project looks like it is about to open, starts reading then about 15 percent into opening I get the dasterdly message prevoiusly mentioned

Can you launch FCP in general and not that project?

FCP launches fine, but refuses to open corrupt project??

But thank goodness, I did find an autusave version of my project, unfortunately it was a bit older than I had hoped. But I can't complain, just had to rebuild 3 hours of lost edits. Not bad

Have you tried throwing away your preferences. This seems to solve 90% of all my problems.
